La literatura como dispositivo: El lugar de lo literario en la filosofía de Giorgio Agamben

Abstract

Si bien la actividad literaria constituye un tema recurrente en las obras de Giorgio Agamben, la importancia de tal práctica dentro de su filosofía no se agota en la simple glosa o referencia. En este artículo se defiende la idea de que, para Agamben, lo literario es una forma no sólo de pensamiento sino también de organización cultural. Por ello, se recurre aquí a la noción de dispositivo para tratar de evidenciar la doble dimensión que adquiere la creación poética en la filosofía de Agamben. Así pues, se intentará mostrar cómo la literatura interpreta y representa el mundo, al tiempo que lo captura, asemejándose de este modo a cualquier dispositivo. Pero también, cómo su condición ambigua con respecto a los fines del lenguaje ofrece la posibilidad de liberar al dispositivo —profanarlo— de la exigencia de reglamentar cualquier conducta creativa.

Even though literary activity is a recurring topic in the works of Giorgio Agamben, the importance of such practice within their philosophy is not exhausted by the mere glosses or reference. In this article it is defended the idea that, for Agamben, the literary is a way not only of thought but also of cultural organization. Therefore, we appeal here to the notion of dispositif to try to prove the double dimension that acquires poetic creation in Agamben´s philosophy. Therefore, we will try to show how literature interprets and represents the world, capturing it at the same time, like any dispositif. But also, how its ambiguous status with respect to the purposes of language offers the possibility of releasing the dispositif —profanating it— from the requirement to regulate any creative behavior.
