Descuentos en la renta de la hagüela en 1496 y 1497: análisis de un documento inédito

Abstract

Tras la capitulación del Reino Nazarí de Granada, los Reyes Católicos tuvieron la difícil tarea de adaptar el complejo fisco nazarí al sistema recaudatorio castellano. Entre la ingente cantidad documental resultante de este proceso, se ha prestado especial atención al legajo 419 de la Contaduría Mayor de Cuentas (C.M.C.), que se encuentra depositado en el Archivo General de Simancas. Uno de los documentos más llamativos corresponde a los descuentos de la renta de la hagüela de los años 1496 y 1497. Gracias a él, podemos extraer un gran número de detalles de sumo interés sobre miembros de las élites castellanas que son mencionados en el texto, así como de los cambios que paulatinamente se iban dando en la ciudad.

After the capitulation of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada, the Catholic Monarchs had the difficult task of adapting the Nasrid tax complex to the Castilian tax collection sys-tem. Among the huge amount of documents resulting from this process, special atten-tion has been given to file 419 of the “Contaduría Mayor de Cuentas” (C.M.C.), which is deposited in the “Archivo General de Simancas”. One of the most striking documents corresponds to the discounts of the rent of the “hagüela” of the years 1496 and 1497. Thanks to him, we can extract a great number of details of great interest about mem-bers of the Castilian elites that are mentioned in the text, as well as the changes that were gradually taking place in the city of Granada.
