De lo sensorial al autoconocimiento. Las intervenciones de Ana Torrent en cine y televisión

Abstract

El actor ha sido considerado el promotor visual y estético de los films en los que participa desde la invención del cine. En nuestro país, no solo se le ha destacado por su exitosa imagen, también se le han minimizado sus posibles aportaciones creativas y éticas, sin priorizarlas siquiera en trabajos de índole académica. Nuestro estudio se centra en la actriz Ana Torrent, quien ha conferido a la profesión de las artes dramáticas el valor que tiene mediante el ejemplo de su trayectoria, tanto en cine como televisión. En su carrera se distingue una evolución como intérprete de lo sensorial –lo intuitivo- al autoconocimiento –lo formativo-, con la tarea de continuar ambas partes en la actualidad, como puede constartarse El espíritu de la colmena (Víctor Erice, 1973), Tesis (Alejandro Amenabar), o la serie Amar es para siempre (Eduardo Casanova, 2016-2017), entre otras. Además de trabajar una bibliografía relacionada con el campo actoral y con el estudio del lenguaje fílmico, vamos a profundizar en el cambio de una etapa a otra, en sus modos en el desarrollo de sus personajes; el crear sus papeles a partir de tradiciones socioculturales y, en su versatilidad a la hora de interpretar, el intercambio de su iconicidad por nuevos registros que le permitan la evolución en su carrera.

The figure of the actor has been considered both a visual and an aesthetical film promoter since the advent of the industry. In Spain, they have been held in high regard for their successful image, but at the same time minimizing their potential creative and ethical contributions, without recognizing them not even in the academic field. This study focuses on the actress Ana Torrent, who has endowed the profession of acting with the value it deserves throughout her career in film and television. In her professional path there is an evolution as performer of the sensorial –the intuitive– to the self-knowledge –the formative–, committed with task of continuing both sides, as it can be observed in The Spirit of the Beehive (Víctor Erice, 1973), Thesis (Alejandro Amenábar), or the series Love is Forever (Eduardo Casanova, 2016-2017), among other. Besides examining a reference corpus related to the field of performing arts and the study of film language, this work aims to present an in-depth study of the changes observed in the different acting periods; her methods for developing her characters; the creation of her roles from socio-cultural traditions; and her versatility when it comes to performing, the interchange of her iconic image for new registers that allow her to evolve.
