Problemas lingüísticos y extralingüísticos en las traducciones española e italiana de la novela L’élégance du hérisson de Muriel Barbery. Estudio de caso

Abstract

Desde que la Traductología se convirtiese en disciplina y se separase, por ende, de la Lingüística, el binomio filólogo-traductor, el cual consideramos imprescindible en la tarea traductológica, se ha visto escindido. Esta tan preocupante ausencia de colaboración es la que nos ha llevado a realizar esta investigación, con la que pretendemos resaltar la importancia del trabajo conjunto para la consecución de una traducción. A este respecto, nuestro estudio se centra en el análisis filológico y de los resultados traductológicos en español e italiano de la novela L’élégance du hérisson (2006) de Muriel Barbery. Tras efectuar un análisis traductológico y otro comparativo de algunos capítulos de la novela, para observar cómo se han adaptado al idioma y cultura de los países de llegada, creemos de fundamental importancia subrayar la importancia y obligatoriedad por parte de los traductores, sobre todo al tratarse de lenguas afines, de un estudio previo, detallado y filológico del TO. El propósito con el que realizamos este trabajo es el de identificar los obstáculos, analizar las soluciones que han aportado los traductores al respecto, y finalmente ofrecer propuestas alternativas con el fin de mejorar los TM.

Ever since Translatology became a discipline of its own, separated from Linguistics, the philologist-translator relationship, which we consider essential in the task of translation, has been split. This worrying lack of collaboration is what has led us to carry out this research, with which we intend to highlight the importance of working together in order to produce a translation. In this respect, our study focuses on the philological analysis and the translation results in Spanish and Italian of the novel L’élégance du hérisson (2006) by Muriel Barbery. After carrying out a comparative and a translatological analysis of some chapters of the novel, in order to observe how they have been adapted to the language and culture of the countries of arrival, we believe that it is essential to underline the importance and obligation on the part of the translators, especially when dealing with related languages, of a previous, detailed and philological study of the source text. The purpose of this work is to identify the obstacles, analyze the solutions provided by the translators, and finally offer alternative proposals in order to improve the target texts.
