Evolución de la metodología de la mejora genética en el vacuno de carne

Abstract

The evolution of the genetic improvement methodology in the beef cattle has been based, as in other species, in our capacity to detect the best genotypes for using as reproducers. In this paper are described three phases in this evolution: The intuitive, the statistical and the biotechnological, in function of the methods used to detect, to select and to use as reproducers the best genetically doted individuals.

La evolución de la metodología de la mejora genética se ha basado en el vacuno de carne, como en otras especies, en nuestra capacidad para detectar a los mejores genotipos para utilizarlos como reproductores. En este trabajo se describen tres fases en esta evolución, la intuitiva, la estadística y la biotecnológica, en función de los métodos utilizados para detectar, seleccionar y utilizar como reproductores a los mejor dotados genéticamente.
