La tradition arabe d’Évagre le Pontique

Abstract

Some of Evagrius’ works (a religious author of the end of the 4th century) were translated from Greek into Arabic. The article draws on an inventory of these Arabic translations and it supplements the previous inventories by G. Graf and S. K. Samir. It also describes the characteristics of the manuscript transmission, with a particular emphasis on cases of pseudepigraphy, and attempts to establish them. For every Arabic text, there is a sample of the language of the version used by the translator, whether it is Greek, Syriac or Coptic.

Varias de las obras de Evagrius (autor religioso de finales del siglo IV) fueron traducidas del griego al árabe. Este artículo se centra en un inventario de dichas traducciones arábes y complementa los anteriores inventarios de G. Graf y S. K. Samir. Asimismo describe las características de la transmisión manuscrita haciendo particular hincapié en casos de pseudoepigrafía e intenta fijarlas. Para cada texto arábe, hay un ejemplo lingüístico de la versión utilizada por el traductor, bien se griego, siriaco o copto.
