Prosopografía de la Orden de Calatrava en Castilla: la primera mitad del siglo XV

Abstract

El artículo reconstruye la prosopografía de la Orden de Calatrava en el reino de Castilla durante la primera mitad del siglo XV. Se incluyen en esta prosopografía todos los individuos pertenecientes a la institución, tanto laicos como clérigos. La biografía de cada personaje se ha completado, cuando ha sido necesario, remontándola a fechas anteriores a 1401 o prolongándola a fechas posteriores a 1450. El esquema ideal de cada biografía incluye el parentesco, la fecha de nacimiento, la trayectoria vital del personaje, la fecha de fallecimiento y el lugar de enterramiento, aunque con frecuencia no ha sido posible averiguar todos estos datos. La documentación utilizada procede fundamentalmente de la sección de Órdenes Militares del Archivo Histórico Nacional y de la colección Salazar de la Real Academia de la Historia.

The article reconstructs the prosopography of the Order of Calatrava in the kingdom of Castile during fi rst half of 15th century. All the individuals to belong to the institution are include themselves in this prosopography, as much lay as clergymen. The biography of each personage has been completed, when it has been necessary, setting in the past it to dates previous to 1401 or prolonging it to later dates to 1450. The ideal scheme of each biography includes the kinship, the date of birth, the life of the personage, the date of death and the place of interment, although it has frequently not been possible to fi nd out all these data. The used documentation comes fundamentally from the section of Military Orders of the Archivo Histórico Nacional and the Salazar collection of the Real Academia de la Historia
