This article examines the interpretation by Iohannis Bonifacio Baggatta (17th century) of the agent
intellect. He denies its existence, because he accepts that sensitive species are intelligible in act and can
affect directly the possible intellect. This is because the possible intellect and the imagination are united
in the soul, and what affects one power also affects other. The article concludes by showing the reason
these theses are incorrect.
