La revisión de las bibliotecas eclesiásticas españolas tras el edicto de 1747 y sus fondos espirituales y religiosos del siglo XVII español

Abstract

Este artículo se basa en el estudio que he realizado del legajo de Inquisición 3436 del Archivo Histórico Nacional donde se recogen las cartas procedentes de conventos, monasterios y colegios de toda España, en las que comunicaban las revisiones que habían hecho en sus respectivas bibliotecas, como dictaminaba el Edicto inquisitorial del 13 de febrero de 1747. Dicho documento aporta una importante información sobre las obras espirituales y religiosas, especialmente del siglo XVII español, indicando la importancia y repercusión que tuvo este campo cultural en la España del siglo XVII, así como el control que sobre él tuvo la Inquisición, incluso en el siglo XVIII. Señala además los centros eclesiásticos y órdenes religiosas que dieron una mayor dedicación a la cultura y el conocimiento

This article is based on the study that I did of the file of Inquisition 3436 of the Archivo Histórico Nacional. It contains letters from convents, monasteries and school throughout Spain, in which they communicated the revisions they had did in their respective libraries as dictated by the inquisitorial Edict of February 13, 1747. This document provides important information on the spiritual and religious works, especially in the Spanish seventeenth - century, indicating the importance and impact of this cultural field of the seventeenth - century Spain, and the control of the Inquisition about this books, even in the eighteenth - century. It also indicate out the ecclesiastical centers and religious orders that gave a greater dedication to culture and knowledge
