Twenty-nine ewes (2-3 years old) of the Manchega and Merina breeds have been used, on which lateral and ventrodorsal radiographies have been performed. Having this material, we obtained data corresponding to eight parameters, such as length, hight, cephalic and cranial width, the craniumfacial angle, and the incisive palatine length. The analysis of the data, based on the radiographic information, has shown the existence of homogeneus groups corresponding with the breed. Also, numerical data about the principal craniumfacial dimensions have been valiiáted, such as the craniumfacial angle, which (in degrees) was determined to be 45.78 + 2.42 for the Manchega breed, and 42.00 2.44 for the Merina breed. A variance analysis shows the statistical significance between the craniumfacial variables and the angle to be 99.9%; while of the craneal variables, only the craneal length is significant. The discriminant function separates the two breeds. The statistical study is completed with a cluster analysis of the variables relations to the data concerning parameters and groups.
