De jardines y otras revoluciones: Bianca Milesi en el Risorgimento italiano

Abstract

Bianca Milesi (1790-1849) es una de las figuras más relevantes y, a su vez, más desconocidas del Risorgimento italiano. La escasa atención que su vida y obras han recibido por parte de la crítica posterior, que ignora también a muchas de sus contemporáneas, es resultado de una Historia narrada desde una perspectiva patriarcal. Las noticias bibliográficas sobre Bianca Milesi se encuentran en la actualidad obsoletas, por este motivo el siguiente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar y recuperar la figura de una de las Giardiniere más activas, poniendo en valor su labor pedagógica y su actividad política.

Bianca Milesi (1790-1849) is one of the most relevant and, at the same time, most unknown figures of the Italian Risorgimento. The scant attention that her life and works have received from later critics, who also ignore many of her contemporaries, is the result of a history related from a patriarchal perspective. Bibliographical information on Bianca Milesi is currently outdated, and for this reason the following article aims to analyze and recover the figure of one of the most active Giardiniere, highlighting her pedagogical work and her political activity.
