La unión entre ciencia y poesía en el primer cuarto del XVIII en Inglaterra

Abstract

Trabajo que disecciona el papel representado por los poetas ingleses del primer cuarto del XVIII, poniendo al alcance de los lectores los nuevos e importantes descubrimientos que tienen lugar en el siglo XVII y que realzan la importancia de los científicos por encima de los filósofos. Estos poetas van a ser los pioneros de la futura „poesía de la naturaleza‟ que alcanzará un desarrollo inusual y adquirirá cartas de nobleza con la publicación de la primera de las cuatro Seasons de James Thomson: Winter.

This paper discusses the role played by the English poets who lived in the first quarter of the 18th century, while it provides the readers with new and relevant discoveries that occur in the 17th century and where the importance of the role of scientists over that of philosophers is highlighted. These poets are the forerunners of the future „poetry of nature‟ that will undergo an unusual development reaching its highest point with the publication of the first of the first four Seasons, Winter by James Thomson.
