Geometría Selecta Theorica, y Práctica del matemático cordobés Gonzalo Antonio Serrano

Abstract

Gonzalo Antonio Serrano fue un médico, matemático y astrónomo cordobés del siglo XVIII con un gran volumen de publicaciones en diversas áreas científicas. En este artículo realizamos un análisis contenido de una de sus obras, un tratado de problemas de geometría plana, publicada en 1736. Mostramos una breve biografía del autor y se analiza la estructura conceptual de la obra, los sistemas de representación, estrategias didácticas utilizadas y la fenomenología de los problemas planteados.

Gonzalo Antonio Serrano was a doctor, mathematician and astronomer from the eighteenth century with a large volume of publications in various scientific areas. In this article we carry out a content analysis of one of his works, a treaty of problems of plane geometry, published in 1736. We show a brief biography of the author and analyse the conceptual structure of the work, the systems of representation, didactic strategies used and phenomenology of the problems posed.
