El Renacimiento. Notas sobre la formación de un concepto

Abstract

Se recogen algunos datos para la revisión del concepto de renacimiento como modelo critico e historiográfico. Se parte de los orígenes en la propia época, con el elemento básico de su conciencia de cambio, su oposición a los modelos anteriores y su voluntad de forjar una nueva cultura, modificando las relaciones con la herencia clásica. Se sigue la aparición del concepto, como formulación léxica, desde los propios humanistas hasta los estudios canónicos de finales del siglo XIX, y se presta una atención particular a la historiografía literaria española, con sus albores en el siglo XVII y sobre todo con las prácticas de la Ilustración, atendiendo a la confluencia con la noción de "siglo de oro".

Data are gathered here for the revision of the concept of Renaissance as a critical and historiographical model. The starting point is the origins of the period itself, with the basic element of its consciente of change, its opposition to previous models and its willingness to create a new culture by modifying its relationship with the Classic heritage. The origins of the concept follows, as a lexical formulation, from the humanists themselves up to the cannonical studies at the end of the 10 century. A special attention is paid to the Spanish literary historiography originated in the 171h century and aboye all to Illustration and its relations with the notion "golden century".
