La peste negra en la Corona de Castilla (siglo XIV y XV): el caso de Córdoba

Abstract

El presente artículo tiene por objeto el estudio y profundización del fenómeno histórico de la Peste Negra en la Corona de Castilla entre los siglos XIV y XV. Por medio de un vaciado bibliográfico y el empleo de fuentes de época bajomedieval y moderna, se analiza la relevancia de la misma a lo largo de la historia, la situación actual del conocimiento para el territorio castellano y la evolución cronoepidémica en tierras cordobesas. Ello se adscribe al reflejo de algunos mecanismos de prevención para evitar el contagio y la propagación de la enfermedad, así como las respuestas terapéuticas desde el prisma de los recetarios médicos bajomedievales.

The present article is devoted to the study and in-depth analysis of the historical phenomenon of the Black Death in the Crown of Castilla during the 14th and 15th centuries. By means of a bibliographic research and the usage of sources dating from late medieval and modern period, the relevance of the disease throughout history, the current situation of the knowledge for the Castilian territory and the evolution of the chronoepidemic in Córdoba are analyzed. This is attached to the reflection of some preventive mechanisms to avoid the contagion an the spread of the disease, as well as the therapeutic responses from the perspective of he late medieval medical recipes.
