Diferencias y similitudes entre los sistemas de salud europeos: el caso de Alemania y España aplicado a la traducción jurada de textos médico-legales

Abstract

No cabe duda de que la movilidad de las personas ha aumentado en las últimas décadas y, con ella, la necesidad de traducciones como las de textos médico legales en el par de idiomas alemán-español. Para poder lograr una traducción de calidad, el traductor médico ha de conocer a fondo el ámbito en el que se mueve y, no solo el de la medicina en su sentido más estricto, sino también el sistema de salud al que el documento pertenece. Por este motivo, nos propusimos estudiar los sistemas de salud alemán y español en el contexto de la seguridad social y los modelos existentes, analizándolos y comparándolos, para determinar, finalmente, sus diferencias y similitudes, cuyo conocimiento servirá de apoyo al traductor médico alemán-español.

There is no doubt that the mobility of people has increased over the last decades and, thus, the need for translations such as those of medical-legal documents in the German-Spanish language pair. In order to obtain a translation of quality, the medical translator needs a thorough knowledge of the respective field, not only in Medicine in its strictest sense, but also regarding the health care system the text refers to. Therefore, we aimed to study the German and Spanish health care systems within the social security system and the existing models, analysing and comparing them, to determine their differences and similarities, knowledge of which is intended to serve as a support for the German-Spanish medical translator.
