La traducción de la imagen en audiodescripción cuando vehicula contenido cultural

Abstract

La traducción audiovisual (TAV), en sus distintas modalidades, se está expandiendo considerablemente gracias al desarrollo y aplicaciones tecnológicas que cada día revolucionan con nuevas propuestas, que sin duda requieren estudio, el mundo audiovisual. En esta investigación nos focalizaremos en una de las modalidades más recientes de la TAV: la audiodescripción (AD) y su aplicación a productos cinematográficos. Se afronta la cuestión de la descripción de imágenes que transmiten un contenido cultural, su transferencia al guion audiodescrito y el público al que se dirige, si se piensa únicamente en un usuario con discapacidad visual o se puede ampliar a una audiencia más generalizada. Tras una presentación esencial del concepto de referente cultural, se procederá ala exposición y análisis del material seleccionado. Se trata de fragmentos cinematográficos pertenecientes a culturas distantes entre sí. El fin último es analizar tanto el tipo de información que se consigna en la AD y su grado de comprensibilidad, como si está diseñada en función de un destinatario específico.

Among its different forms, Audiovisual translation (AVT) has been expanding considerably thanks to ongoing technological developments. There are applications that are changing the audiovisual world dailywith new proposals, which undoubtedly require study. In this research,we focus on one of the most recent modalities of AVT: Audio Descriptioninfilm products. In this work, therefore, we address the question of the description of images that convey cultural content, its transfer to the audio-described script, and whether it is addressed only to a public with visual impairments or if it can be extended to all people. After an essential presentation of the concept of cultural referent, the selected material will be exposed and analysed. These are film fragments belonging to cultures distant from each other. The purpose is to observe, on oneside, the type of information introduced in the AD and the degree of comprehensibility; on the other ifit is for a specific audience.
