Magia y traductología: tradutecnia y tipología de errores (FR-ES) en Les Clavicules de Salomon

Abstract

Les Clavicules de Salomon constituye una obra referente para el estudio de la magia antigua en culturas occidentales y orientales, como la cultura hispana y la francesa. Gracias a su traducción del hebreo y el latín a lenguas vernáculas, como el francés y el español, se pudieron transmitir dichos conocimientos esotéricos a estas culturas, y supuso, por tanto, una nueva fuente de conocimiento. El presente trabajo analizará dualmente el texto original francés de Jean Jaubert de Barrault (1634) y la traducción de Jorge Guerra (2011) para así determinar cuáles son las técnicas de traducción y los principales errores de traducción para así determinar si esta traducción es fiable en términos cuantitativos y cualitativos.

The Key of Solomon constitutes a model work for antique magic research in western and eastern cultures, such as the Spanish and French ones. Thanks to its translation from Hebrew and Latin to vernacular languages, like French and Spanish, this esoteric knowledge could be transmitted into these mentioned societies, and therefore, entailing a new source of wisdom. The following paper dually analyses the French source text by Jean Jaubert de Barrault (1634) and Jorge Guerra translation (2011) thus determining which are the translation techniques and the main rendering mistakes committed, ascertaining whether this translation is reliable in quantitative and qualitative terms.
