La Iglesia española: del Antiguo al Nuevo Régimen

Abstract

La finalidad de esta aportación es plantear las líneas básicas del poder político de los Borbones del Antiguo al Nuevo Régimen con relación a la Iglesia española de la época, en dos direcciones principales, a saber: Controlar aún más los bienes eclesiásticos y someter aún más el poder temporal de aquélla a la Corona; y reducir el poder "autónomo" de la Inquisición española, algo "eclesíalizada" hacia Roma desde comienzos del Setecientos, sometiéndola asimismo a la Monarquía, Piezas claves de ambas cuestiones, sobre todo de la primera, serán el debate sobre la existencia del diezmo y, sobre todo, su polémica sobre quién debía abonarlo; así como la necesidad de reducir o abolir la propiedad amortizada.

The purpose of this contribution is to raise the basic lines of the political power of the Borbones of Borbones of the Former one to the New Regime with relation to the Spanish Church of the epoch, in two principal directions, namely: To control furthermore the ecclesiastic goods and to submit furthermore the temporary power of that one to the Crown; and to reduce the "autonomous" power of the Spanish Inquisition, some kind of "eclesializada" towards Rome from beginning of Seven hundred, submitting it likewise to the Monarchy. Key pieces of both questions, especially of the first one, witl be the debate on the existence of the tithe and, especially, his polemic on whom it had to pay it; as well as the need to reduce or abolish the amortized property.
