Formas verbales en contraste en italiano y en español: similitudes, diferencias y explicación

Abstract

El objetivo de nuestro trabajo es el estudio de modo contrastivo entre el italiano y el español de los valores temporales, aspectuales y modales de tres formas verbales: el pretérito imperfecto, el pretérito perfecto simple y el condicional. Comprobaremos que el pretérito imperfecto y el pretérito perfecto simple, o passato remoto de acuerdo con la terminología italiana, manifiestan un comportamiento muy próximo en italiano y en español, tanto desde el punto de vista tempo-aspectual como modal. Frente a estos dos tiempos, el condicional presenta mayor número de diferencias entre las dos lenguas. La explicación de este contraste estará basada en la etimología diversa que presenta este tiempo en ambas lenguas, y por este motivo veremos que ha de ser puesto en relación con los valores temporales, aspectuales y modales de las otras dos formas objeto de estudio de este trabajo: el pretérito imperfecto y el pretérito perfecto simple.

The aim of our work is the contrastive study between Italian and Spanish regarding the temporal, aspectual and modal values of three verbal forms: the imperfect past tense, the simple perfect past tense and the conditional tense. We will see that the past imperfect and the past perfect simple, or remote past in Italian terminology, show a very close behaviour in Italian and Spanish, both from the tempo-aspectual and the modal point of view. As opposed to these two verbal tenses, the conditional presents a greater number of differences between the two languages. The explanation of this contrast will be based on the diverse etymology of this verbal tense in both languages, and for this reason we will see that it has to be related to the temporal, aspectual and modal values of the other two forms under study in this work: the imperfect past and the simple perfect past.
