Kann eine Übersetzung immer getreu dem Original sein? o ¿La traducción siempre puede ser fiel a su original?

Abstract

A través de un pequeño capítulo de la novela epistolar “Más allá en la Patagonia” de Maria von Bamberg la presente contribución quiere analizar si una traducción refleja siempre el original. A menudo se puede observar que una traducción suele ser una obra propia, parecida al original pero no idéntica. Las razones pueden ser múltiples y llegan desde problemas idiomáticos hasta culturológicos. La novela consiste de las cartas entre Ella y su madre (madre y abuela de la autora) que fueron elegidos y publicados por Maria Bamberg para dar testimonio de las circunstancias de vida en la Patagonia durante los años 20 del siglo pasado. Para la autora significa la publicación tanto un viaje a su propia infancia como el descubrimiento de los pensamientos de su madre. En el presente caso la novela fue primeramente redactada y publicada en alemán para que sea traducido al español en un paso posterior. Lo que salta a la vista es que en la traducción hay párrafos que fueron omitidos o reformulados. Ya que la autora misma oscila entre dos espacios culturales, el alemán y el argentino, ella no puede ser clasificada al uno o al otro. Además, ella trabajo en la traducción, lo que pudiera implicar que la traducción fue influenciada por este último aspecto. Por lo siguiente sería el componente culturológico un indicador de la diferencia entre el original la traducción? El análisis girará alrededor de este aspecto si la traducción está sometido bajo un censo culturológico.

Through a short chapter of the epistolary novel “Más allá en la Patagonia” from Maria von Bamberg the present contribution wants to analyze if a translation reflect every time the original. Frequently it can be observed that a translation is a proper work similar to the original but not identical. The reasons can be varies and the range should be from linguistic problems to culturelogicals. The novel contains the letters between Ella and her mother (author’s mother and grandmo- ther) selected and published by Maria Bamberg to give testament of live conditions in the Patagonia during the 20th of the last century. For the author signifies a journey back to her own childhood and the discovery of her mother’s thinking. In the present case first the novel was written and published in German to be translated into Spanish in a further step. It can be observed that in the translation some pa- ragraphs are reformulated or excluded. Due that the author oscillate between two culture spaces, the German and the Argentine one and she can’t be classified only to one of them and the fact that she worked with others together in the translation we can formulate the question if a translation can be influenced by a culture component or if a translation. This drives to the following question if a culture component could be an indicator for diffe- rences between the original and its translation. The present analyze revolves around his question if a translation is submitted by a culture census.
