Investigación sobre el estilo de traducción de los cuatro traductores del Daode Jing

Abstract

El Daode Jing es una de las obras más famosas y significativas de la historia de la literatura china. En el presente trabajo compararemos la traducción del Daode Jing realizada por cuatro traductores españoles basado en la estilometría y la lingüística de corpus. Después de analizar los aspectos lingüísticos de las cuatro versiones, haremos una exposición teniendo en cuenta las diferencias culturales, sociales y las experiencias personales. Los resultados del estudio muestran que: a) las traducciones de Iñaki Preciado Idoeta y Onorio Ferrero contienen muchas similitudes, como su gran variedad léxica, y una concentración temática muy altas. La longitud de las oraciones y los párrafos se encuentran en el nivel medio, lo cual supone una mayor dificultad para los lectores; b) la versión de Anne Hélène Suárez Girard contiene también gran variedad léxica, y, al mismo tiempo, la concentración temática es muy baja. La longitud de las oraciones y de los párrafos es relativamente corta con lo que resulta más asequible al lector; c) en la traducción de Carmelo Elorduy, casi todos los rasgos se encuentran en el nivel intermedio. En cuanto a las causas del estilo de traductor, damos cuenta de que las están relacionadas con el trasfondo social, experiencia personal y criterio traductológico.

Daode Jing, one of the most famous and significant works in Chinese history. In the present work, carried out from the corpus of the translation of Daode Jing, composed by the text of the four different versions of translation in Spanish based on Stylometry and Corpus Linguistics. The linguistic aspects of the four translations are shown and analyzed. In addition, the focus is on the explanations taking into account cultural, social differences and personal experiences. The results of the study have revealed: (a) among the four translations, that of Iñaki Preciado Idoeta and Onorio Ferrero have many similarities; the lexical richness and variation, the thematic concentration are very high. The average sentence length and average paragraph length are at the medium level, presenting the greatest difficulty for the readers; (b) the translation version of Anne Hélène Suárez Girard enjoys the lexical richness and variation, and the thematic concentration which are very low. At the same time, the average sentence length and paragraph length are relatively shorter. It is the easiest for readers; c) as for that of Carmelo Elorduy, almost all the traits are at the intermediate level. As for the causes of the translator's style, we find that they are related to social background, personal experience and translating criteria.
