Los Marimon, superintendentes de las Reales Atarazanas de Barcelona: un linaje catalán al servicio de la monarquía (siglos XVII-XVIII)

Abstract

Desde la década de 1620 la familia Marimon siempre dio muestras de su fidelidad a la monarquía y de estar al servicio de los reyes, tanto de la Casa de Austria como de los Borbones. Durante los siglos XVII y XVIII los miembros de este linaje ocuparon importantes cargos en Cataluña, siendo uno de los pilares que sostuvieron el poder real en el Principado y que les valió la concesión del título de marqueses de Cerdanyola.

From the 1620s onwards, the Marimon family always showed signs of their loyalty to the monarchy and of being at the service of the kings, both of the House of Austria and of the Bourbons. During the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the members of this lineage held important positions in Catalonia, being one of the pillars that sustained royal power in the Principality and that earned them the title of Marquis of Cerdanyola.
