Cultura material y arquitectura efímera en el Barroco andaluz: la Cofradía de la Virgen de la Cabeza de Fernán Núñez (Córdoba)

Abstract

Esta investigación examina la historia y el patrimonio de la cofradía de la Virgen de la Cabeza de Fernán Núñez, fundada en 1611 en la iglesia de Santa Marina de Aguas Santas. A través de fuentes documentales, se reconstruye su auge devocional y su cultura material, destacando la tienda de campaña como ejemplo de arquitectura efímera, junto a la dotación de su retablo barroco. Se aborda también su adaptación tras la suspensión de 1773 ordenada por el Consejo de Castilla, concluyendo con la pervivencia de la hermandad hasta su destrucción en la Guerra Civil.

This research examines the history and heritage of the Confraternity of the Virgin of the Cabeza in Fernán Núñez, founded in 1611 at the parish church of Santa Marina. Drawing on documentary sources, the study reconstructs its devotional flourishing and material culture, highlighting its ephemeral architecture—specifically its historic campaign tent—alongside the commissioning of its Baroque altarpiece. It further addresses the brotherhood's adaptation following the suppression ordered by the Council of Castile in 1773, concluding with its survival until its destruction during the Spanish Civil War.
