La novela negra en Francia

Abstract

En este trabajo analizamos la denominación “roman noir” partiendo, en primer lugar, de un estudio retrospectivo, por medio del cual se pone primero de relieve la importancia de la novela negra americana en sus orígenes, para estudiar luego los rasgos y elementos que los autores franceses le otorgan, que la llevarán a adquirir unos rasgos singulares. Asimismo, contemplamos su evolución hacia el polar, destacando a los grandes maestros de este género, para concluir con las nuevas tendencias hacia las que el polar se orienta desde de los años setenta, concretamente el denominado “néo-polar”.

The aim of this paper is to discuss the notion of “roman noir”. The study begins with a retrospective look over the origins of this genre, which highlights the importance of the North- American black novel. Then it discusses the main features and elements characteristic of the French authors, which made the type of novels so remarkable. The evolution of the genre will be also approached while studying its evolution towards the “polar” novel, reviewing its main writers, and the latest tendencies of polar fiction since the seventies, namely the “néo-polar”.
