A propósito del legado de Fabia Hadrianilla: la proyección pública de la mujer en la Bética romana

Abstract

En el presente trabajo pretendemos realizar un estudio sobre la importancia de munificencia cívica en la sociedad romana y cómo la mujer promocionaba a través de ésta, basándonos en Fabia Hadrianilla. Fabia Hadrianilla, miembro de una familia senatorial, mantuvo la importancia de su gens dentro de Hispalis, su municipio de origen. De este modo, aunque la mujer no pudiera llegar a ocupar cargos políticos, sí podía jugar un importante papel en este prestigio familiar. Por lo señalado, nuestro objetivo será mostrar la importancia de la mujer en la munificencia cívica y cómo podían participar en la vida pública.

In the present work we consider to make a study about the importance of civic munificence in the Roman society and how the women promoted through this one, basing on Fabia Hadrianilla. Fabia Hadrianilla, member of a senatorial family, supported the importance of her gens inside Seville, her city of origin. Thus, though the women could not manage to occupy political charges, they could play an important role in this familiar prestige.Therefore, our aim will be to show the importance of the women in the civic munificence and how they could take part in the public life.
