Páginas introductorias a una traducción crítica de Lolita

Abstract

Las páginas introductorias que siguen tratan de justificar la necesidad de una traducción crítica de Lolita, la novela de Nabokov cuya primera versión al castellano (1959), prohibida en Argentina, no llegó a España hasta 1975, donde se publicó expurgada hasta 1986, y luego siguió publicándose expurgada, con variantes, hasta 2002. Desde entonces, una nueva versión completa, parafraseada sobre la anterior, está en el mercado, sin que, al parecer, los derechos editoriales permitan recuperar la versión primera ni hacer otra distinta. La traducción crítica de Lolita que proponemos no solo debe cotejar con el original las cuatro versiones al castellano indicadas, sino también con la primera traducción al francés de 1959, revisada por el autor, la segunda de 2001, la catalana de 1987, la italiana de 1993 -cotejada con la versión al ruso que hizo el autor en 1967-, y la traducción alemana en equipo de 1959 revisada y anotada en 1989 y 2017, esta última con indicaciones en nota de las variantes de la edición al ruso. Además, deberá incorporar el Postscriptum de la traducción al ruso y algunos de los comentarios en notas al texto original. Se incluye como muestra el prólogo, I, 1; I, 4 y las notas finales.

The following introducrory pages try to justify the need for a critical translation of Lolita, the novel by Nabokov whose first version into spanish (1959), banned in Argentina, did not arrive in Spain until 1975, where it was published expurgated until 1986, and then continued expurgated, with variants, until 2002. Since then a new complete version, paraphrased on the previous one, is in the market and the editorial rights do not allow to recover the first version or make a different one. The critical translation of Lolita that we propose should not only collate with the original the four Spanish previous versions, but also with the first French translation of 1959, revised by the author, the second of 2001, the Catalan of 1987, the Italian of 1993 - collated with the Russian version made by the author in 1967- and the German team translation in 1959 revised and annotated in 1989 and 2017, this latter with indications in note of the variants of the Russian version. The Postscript of the Russian translation and some of the annotated commentaries to the original text should also be added. A sample with the Foreword, Part I,1, I, 4 and final notes is included
