El turismo, un salvavidas para los inmuebles históricos. El ejemplo de Ribadavia (Ourense)

Abstract

Presentamos el ejemplo de Ribadavia (Ourense), una ciudad declarada bien de interés cultural que ha valorizado su patrimonio a través de rehabilitaciones y nuevos usos, como por ejemplo el nuevo Museo del Vino de Galicia ubicado en una antigua rectoral o la rehabilitación de su castillo, con un centro de interpretación en su interior. Las visitas a su patrimonio, unidas al turismo enológico (Ribadavia es la comarca vitivinícola más importante de Galicia) atraen a un nuevo perfil turístico de personas que viajen expresamente para disfrutar de sus inmuebles históricos y de sus bodegas que, a su vez, han contribuido a que se mantenga vivo el patrimonio inmaterial vinculado a esta actividad.

We present the example o Ribadavia (Ourense), a town declared of cultural interest that has enhanced its heritage through renovations and new uses, such as the new Galician Wine Museum located in an old rectory or the rehabilitation of its castle, with an interpretation centre inside. Visits to its heritage, together with wine tourism (Ribadavia is the most important wine-producing region in Galicia) attract a new tourist profile of people who travel specifically to enjoy its historic buildings and wineries which, in turn, have contributed to keeping alive the intangible heritage linked to this activity.
