La vida infantil en la Edad Media

Abstract

El presente trabajo es un estudio sobre la infancia en la Baja Edad Media, utilizando, sobre todo, la información proporcionada por los tratados médicos de la época, los testimonios cronísticos, fuentes de tipo jurídico y documentación notarial, así como testimonios no escritos. Se abordarán distintos temas relacionados con la vida infantil, como son el nacimiento, la alimentación, la indumentaria, la enfermedad y la muerte, lo que nos permitirá un acercamiento a la vida cotidiana de los niños medievales.

This current piece of work is an essay about childhood in the Late Middle Ages, which has been carried out, above all, through the use of the information provided by some medical teatries of the period, chronicles, legal sources and a notarial set of documents, as well as non‐written sources. We will shed light onto different issues dealing with children’s life such as birth, feeding, clothing, illness and death which will allow us to move closer to Medieval children’s daily life.
