Uso social y evolución del bosque atlántico. Pasado y presente en el ámbito del Bajo Deba Guipuzcoano

Abstract

From the perspective of the Cultural Biogeography, this article does an approach to the knowledge of Atlantic forest analysing the historic process of territory building. In this way tries to made stand out that after a first stage when the beginning of the appertaining activity becomes the start of a decisive process of change of the forest, later the main necessities and requests of the society have been the ones that more directly have conditioned the evolution of vegetal masses. By the way, the article thinks it over the function that actual society gives to countryside and tries to find some keys to glimpse the possible future of forests.

Desde la perspectiva de la Biogeografía cultural, el artículo se acerca al conocimiento del bosque atlántico a través del análisis de los procesos históricos de construcción del territorio, tratando de poner de relieve cómo, tras una primera etapa en que la puesta en explotación agro-ganadera del medio supone el inicio de un proceso decisivo de transformación del bosque, en épocas posteriores han sido las principales necesidades y demandas sociales las que más directamente han condicionado la evolución de las masas vegetales. Al hilo de tales hechos, el artículo también reflexiona sobre la función que la sociedad actual asigna a los espacios rurales, intentando encontrar en ello algunas claves que permitan vislumbrar la evolución futura que cabe esperar para los espacios forestales.
