Irrigation with reclaimed water from the olive table industry is an alternative source of water for semi-arid areas, as long as salinity does not affect seriously soil quality. Appropriate water management can be studied through modelling. The objective of this project is to study the potential of the APEX model to evaluate the evolution of salinity in soils irrigated with reclaimed water. Different irrigation doses with different salt concentrations are analyzed for three different types of soils (Sandy Loam, Silty Loam, Silty Clay Loam). The results show significant differences in soil salinity, ranging between 0,60 ± 0,02 and 12,57 ± 0,38 dS m-1. The soil quality limit is 6 dS m-1, this value is exceeded with some of simulated conditions, one of theses it is when salt concentration in irrigation water is 3840 ppm. The main conclusion of this study is that the APEX model is a suitable tool as it could be adapted successfully to take into account these scenarios for olive orchards.
