Debates sobre educación intercultural desde su práctica en el aula

Abstract

La contribución que queremos hacer con este trabajo al Congreso nacional de Trabajo Social ¿Es posible otro mundo? se inscribe en el marco de la reflexión teórica y práctica de la Educación Intercultural en los centros educativos. La experiencia como coordinadoras en España del proyecto europeo titulado CLIEC: Cooperative Learning in European contexts, en el programa Comenius 2.1 (Training of School Education Staff) nos ha permitido analizar los discursos de los docentes en torno a cuestiones como la presencia de inmigrantes en las aulas, el concepto de diversidad, diferencia y sobre todo, indagar en la concepción e institucionalización que de la “interculturalidad” se hace en los centros educativos. El contexto geográfico de desarrollo del proyecto de sitúa en la provincia de Huelva, donde ha habido un aumento sustancial en la incorporación de mano de obra extranjera inmigrante al sector agrícola de la fresa y los cítricos. Esta ha sido una circunstancia que ha conducido a la incorporación de alumnado extranjero en las aulas, y ha sido uno de los factores que ha motivado a los colegios de esta provincia a participar en este proyecto. Aspecto que nos servirá de reflexión y debate sobre el ¿cuándo?, ¿por qué? y ¿para qué? la Educación Intercultural en las aulas. De este modo, la implementación del proyecto, aún en curso, así como el análisis antropológico sobre el mismo nos permitirán poner en evidencia algunos de los debates actuales en torno a la Educación Intercultural. Para ello, partimos de la convicción de que la denominada “educación intercultural” y el interés por hacer intercultural la praxis y el currículum escolar poco tiene que ver con los cambios demográficos actuales, de llegada de población extranjera inmigrante, y sí mucho con transformaciones identitarias, re-definición y re-imaginación de los Estados-Nación (Dietz, 2003).

The contribution that we want to do with this work to the national Congress of Social Work ¿Is another world possible? is recorded in the framework of the practical and theoretical reflection of the Intercultural Education in the educational centers. The experience as organizers in Spain of the titled European project CLIEC: Cooperative Learning in European contexts, in the program Comenius 2.1 (Training of School Education Staff) has permitted us to analyze the speeches of the educational around questions as the presence of immigrants in the classrooms, the concept of diversity, difference and above all, to investigate in the conception and institutionalization that of the “interculturality” has done in the centers. The geographical context of development of the project situates in the province of Huelva, where there has been a substantial increase in the foreign incorporation of labor immigrant to the agricultural sector of the strawberry and the cítrics. This has been a circumstance that has conducted to the incorporation of foreign students in the classrooms,and has been one of the factors that has motivated the schools from this province to participate in this project. Aspect that will serve us of reflection and debate on the ¿when?, ¿why? and ¿for what? the Intercultural Education in the classrooms. In this way, the implementation of the project, still under way, as well as the anthropological analysis on the same one will permit us to put in evidence some of the present debates around the Intercultural Education. For it, we leave from the conviction that it called “intercultural education” and the interest by doing intercultural the praxis and the school curriculum little has to see with the present demographic changes, of foreign arrival of population immigrant, and yes a great deal with identity transformations , re-definition and re-imagination of the States-Nation (Dietz, 2003).
