One hundred years later, the festival held on January 6, 1923 at the home of the García Lorca family can be considered an excepcional event in the history of contemporary Spanish theater. As a commemoration of the event, this paper tries to explain its scope in the theatrical renewal that occurred in the Silver Age of Spanish Literature. Its place in Lorca’s trajectory is framed first, tracing the project of the Teatro Cachiporra Andaluz as well as the approaches that govern its dialogue with tradition. The development of
the session is reconstructed below, taking into account its different elements, its importance and
its meaning in light of the renewing context.
