Transformer: la arquitectura de la transformación

Abstract

Aborda el tema de la transformación de nuestros monumentos, ejercida desde la sinceridad de la arquitectura de su tiempo, lo que supone complejidad y contradicción, pero a la vez riqueza patrimonial y vivencias de un arte que deja sus huellas de autenticidad y se adecua permanentemente a las nuevas necesidades y a los nuevos tiempos. El trabajo asume las reflexiones teóricas patrimoniales e identifica con algunos ejemplos la capacidad de la arquitectura para transformar y a la vez conservar, de vitalizar y permanecer, lo nuevo y lo antiguo que se fusionan como expresión de su tiempo. En un contexto patrimonial, siempre difícil y polémico, podría encontrarse un camino de reflexión o incluso de intervención, nunca arbitrario o caprichoso, donde la arquitectura de hoy pueda sedimentar su huella en la vida de nuestros monumentos.

It addresses the issue of the transformation of our monuments, exerted from the sincerity of the architecture of its time, which supposes complexity and contradiction, and at the same time, rich heritage and experiences of an art that leaves traces of authenticity and permanently fits new needs and changing times. The work assumes the heritage theoretical reflections and identifies some examples of the ability of the architecture to transform while preserving, to vitalize and remain, the new and the old that fuse as an expression of their time. In an always difficult and controversial heritage context, it could be found a way of reflection or intervention, never arbitrary or capricious, where the architecture of today can settle their mark on the lives of our monuments.
