Homère chez Eustathe de Thessalonique : la traduction des Proèmes sur l’Iliade et l’Odyssée

Abstract

In the present contribution, we present the translation of the Proems on Odyssey and Iliad of the Byzantize scholar of the 12th century Eustathius of Thessalonica. Firstly, we integrate these texts into the ensemble of the philological works of the erudite Byzantine and we show how the commentary on the Odyssey can be read in relation to the commentary on the Iliad. In the second part, we translate in French his Proems where Eusthathius explains himself the particular method of his compilative, autonomous and highly personal commentary on Homer.

La presente contribución presenta un análisis y traducción de los Proemios a la Ilíada y la Odisea realizados por el autor bizantino del siglo XII Eustacio de Tesalónica. En la primera parte del artículo, estos textos se integran en el conjunto de trabajos filológicos de este erudito bizantino, mostrándose cómo el comentario a la Odisea puede ser leído en relación al comentario de la Ilíada. La segunda parte ofrece la traducción francesa de los Proemios, donde Eustacio explica el particular método de su compilación, en un autónomo y personal comentario a Homero.
