Deportes e ídolos deportivos. Un estudio de caso con niños cordobeses de primaria

Abstract

El deporte ha sido siempre una parte importante de nuestra herencia histórica y cultural, así como un fenómeno social y económico que contribuye a muchos objetivos estratégicos de grandes colectivos empresariales. Practicar un deporte determinado y al mismo tiempo admirar a un deportista de esa misma disciplina de juego sería lo normal. Pero eso siempre no ocurre así. Los objetivos del presente estudio son saber cuáles son los deportes que más gustan al alumnado de Educación Primaria de dicho centro; comprobar si hay coincidencias o diferencias relevantes entre géneros y si su deporte practicado se corresponde con un deportista de la misma disciplina deportiva. Utilizando la técnica del dibujo llevamos a cabo una investigación en la que se pregunta al alumnado (n= 118), de segundo al quinto de primaria de un colegio concertado de Córdoba (España), que dibujen su deporte favorito y por detrás escriban cuál es su ídolo deportivo y el porqué de elegir ese deporte. Los resultados obtenidos vienen a indicar cómo la influencia de los medios de comunicación y del entorno hace que el deporte practicado no se corresponda con el deseado. Por otro lado los ídolos deportivos no se corresponden con el de la misma disciplina deportiva que llevan a cabo. Igualmente pudimos encontrar grandes diferencias entre sexos a la hora de la elección deportiva.

Sport has always been an important part of our historical and cultural heritage, as well as a social and economic phenomenon that contributes to many strategic objectives of large business groups. Practicing a particular sport and at the same time admiring an athlete of that same game discipline would be normal. But that does not always happen that way. The objectives of the present study are to know which sports are most liked by Primary Education students of said center; check if there are coincidences or relevant differences between genres and if their practiced sport corresponds to an athlete of the same sport discipline. Using the technique of drawing, we carry out an investigation in which the students (n = 118), from second to fifth grade of a concerted school in Córdoba (Spain) are asked to draw their favorite sport and write what is behind his sports idol and the reason for choosing that sport. The results obtained indicate how the influence of the media and the environment means that the sport practiced does not correspond to the desired one. On the other hand, sports idols do not correspond to the same sports discipline they carry out. We also found great differences between the sexes at the time of the sports election.
