Muerte y religiosidad en el medio rural: Cabra, 1700‐1833

Abstract

El análisis de las actitudes colectivas ante la muerte, que tiene a la documentación notarial como su fuente principal, ha sido uno de los grandes temas de la historiografía española en las últimas décadas. La mayoría de las obras que se han hecho sobre este tema, se han ocupado del ámbito urbano. El medio rural, que ha sido menos atendido por los historiadores, es el analizado en este artículo mediante el estudio de los comportamientos ante la muerte en Cabra en los años 1700, 1750 y 1833.

The analysis of the collective attitudes towards death, which has as its main source the notarial documentation, has been one of the major topics of Spanish historiography in recent decades. Most of the work that has been done on this topic, has dealt with the urban environment. The rural environment, which has been less attended to by historians, is the analyzed in this article through the study of the behaviors towards death in Cabra in the years 1700, 1750 and 1833.
