Viajando a Puerto Rico, ¿cómo tengo que pensar en italiano?

Abstract

La pertenencia de Puerto Rico a dos culturas ‒principalmente la hispana con sustratos indígenas y la estadounidense‒ determina que la realidad lingüística y cultural del país sea sumamente rica y variada, y ello se refleja en toda una serie de topónimos, metáforas, fraseologismos, etc. Reproducir esta dualidad en otra lengua, como es el italiano, no es tarea fácil, dada la significativa presencia de realias y culturemas. Nuestro propósito, por consiguiente, es el de proporcionar la traducción de los aspectos más significativos de los principales portales turísticos de la isla caribeña, intentando recrear lo que un puertorriqueñismo transmite y cómo el ítalo-hablante se puede acercar a su cultura y pensamiento.

Puerto Rico's belonging to two cultures ‒mainly the Hispanic one with indigenous and American substrates‒ determines that the linguistic and cultural reality of the country is extremely rich and varied, and this is reflected in a whole series of place-names, metaphors, phraseologies, etc. In order to this duality in another language, such as Italian, is not an easy task, taking account of the significant presence of realias and cultural terms. Our purpose, therefore, is to provide the translation of the most significant aspects of the main tourist portals of the Caribbean island, trying to recreate what a Puerto Rican transmits and how the Italian speaker can approach to their culture and thought.
