Pedro Martínez de Osma (1424-1480)

Abstract

We offer, for the first time, the translation from Latin to Spanish of this important manuscript text by Pedro Martínez de Osma (1424-80), written probably in between 1474 and 1479. This text is a dialog between a master and his pupil triying to criticize the nominal reason from the humanistic renovation which Pedro de Osma tried at the University of Salamanca against the one which was offered from the dialectic and nominalism. With it the philosophical trends concerning the model of renovation which beat in the Christianity around the end of the XV century are shown.

Se efectúa, por vez primera, la del latín al castellano de este importante texto manuscrito de Pedro Martínez de Osma (1424-80), compuesto con bastante probabilidad entre 1474 y 1479. Es un diálogo entre un maestro y un discípulo tratando de someter a crítica la razón nominal desde la renovación humanista que Pedro de Osma pretendía en la Universidad de Salamanca frente a la que se ofrecía desde la dialéctica y el nominalismo. Con ello se las tendencias filosóficas en cuanto al modelo de renovación que latían en la cristiandad hacía finales del siglo XV.
