Los escultores malagueños Mateo Gutiérrez Muñiz y Diego Gutiérrez Toro. Nuevos datos y atribuciones

Abstract

Este artículo tiene por objetivo dar a conocer nuevas obras atribuibles a los escultores malagueños Mateo Gutiérrez Muñiz y su hijo, Diego Gutiérrez Toro, los cuales mantuvieron un taller familiar dedicado en exclusiva al arte sacro en la ciudad de Málaga, desde finales del siglo XVIII y hasta todo el siglo XIX, proveyendo a la misma de gran cantidad de esculturas, retablos y hasta restauraciones de piezas sacras.

This article aims to present new works attributable to the Malaga sculptors Mateo Gutiérrez Muñiz and his son, Diego Gutiérrez Toro, who maintained a family workshop dedicated exclusively to sacred art in the city of Malaga, from the end of the 18th century and until the entire 19th century, providing it with a large quantity of sculptures, altarpieces and even restorations of sacred pieces.
