Dios, tumbas y santos. La formación del paisaje devocional en las ciudades de al-Andalus

Abstract

En este trabajo se aborda un sucinto repaso por las manifestaciones materiales de la devoción religiosa en el Islam andalusí. Se hace una distinción entre las prácticas populares, más propias del ámbito rural, y aquellas auspiciadas por las autoridades civiles y religiosas para integrar e islamizar a la población. Se analizan las motivaciones y características básicas de cada una de estas formas de piedad, más espontánea y heterodoxa en las manifestaciones populares, y más ortodoxas y monumentales en las promovidas por la iniciativa oficial.

This work deals with a concise review of the material manifestations of religious devotion in the Islam from al-Andalus. It makes a distinction between popular practices, more typical of rural areas, and those sponsored by the civil and religious authorities to integrate and islamize the population. It analyzes the motivations and basic characteristics of each of these forms of piety, more spontaneous and heterodox in popular manifestations, and more orthodox and monumental in those promoted by the oficial initiative.
