“Tu mudo horror divino”: Góngora y el horror sagrado

Abstract

A pesar de la atención recibida, el soneto “Restituye a tu mudo horror divino” de Luis de Góngora sigue planteando toda clase de interrogantes. Este artículo se cifra en brindar una lectura rigurosa que atienda no sólo al aspecto filológico, sino también al filosófico; muy en particular a la “sublimidad del horror”.

Despite the attention it has received, the sonnet “Restituye a tu mudo horror divino” by Luis de Góngora continues to pose myriads of questions. The objective of this work is to provide a rigorous interpretation of the text, taking into account not only the philological aspect but the historical as well, and in particular, the “sublimity of horror”.
