La transducción de la novela gráfica al cine: el caso de «Buñuel en el laberinto de las tortugas»

Abstract

The aim of this article is, on the one hand, to expose the main cliché and prejudice existing around film transductions, fidelity, and the supposed superiority of the literary text over the filmic text in order to subsequently debunk them; and, on the other hand, to carry out a brief comparative analysis, without falling into hierarchies, between the graphic novel Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles by Fermín Solís and its homonymous transduction by Salvador Simó. Likewise, a survey of the real story that inspired Solís' graphic novel is offered: the filming of the documentary Las Hurdes: Land without Bread (1933) by Luis Buñuel.

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo, por un lado, exponer el principal tópico y prejuicio existente en torno a las transducciones cinematográficas, la fidelidad, y esa supuesta superioridad del texto literario frente al texto fílmico para, posteriormente, desmontarlos; y, por otro lado, realizar un breve análisis comparatista, sin caer en jerarquías, entre la novela gráfica Buñuel en el laberinto de las tortugas de Fermín Solís y su transducción homónima a manos de Salvador Simó. Asimismo, se hace un recorrido por la historia real que inspiró la novela gráfica de Solís: el rodaje del documental Las Hurdes, tierra sin pan (1933) de Luis Buñuel.
