Lactancia artificial de corderos con leche fría. II) Experiencia con corderos separados de sus madres antes de las 15 horas de vida

Abstract

The autos is carrying out an artificial feeding experiment with cold milk ad libitum on 19 lambs of La Mancha race which have been separated from their mothers before they are 15 hours old. The mortality rate increased to 15.79 po 100 of the lambs. Their half-daily growth in the period 0-42 days of 235 g was very much superior to that realized by other authors for the same period with similar races. The total consumption of food (11.57 kg M. S. and 16.86 U. A. per lamb) is superior to that obtained by other autors, the rates of general transformation are similar, which explains to us the better growth in our experiment. In the third week, the lambs suffer a stress through unidentifiable causes which is shown in a growth decrease. The lambs are taken off artificial feeding when they are 42 days old, weighting 13 kilos, and pass satisfactorily to feeding with minimum stress.

El autor realiza un ensayo de lactancia artificial con leche fría ad libitum, sobre 19 corderos de raza manchega, que han sido separados de sus madres antes de las 15 horas de vida. La mortalidad ascendió al 15,79 p. 100 de los corderos. El crecimiento medio diario en el periodo 0,42 días fue de 235 g; resultado muy superior al conseguido por otros autores para el mismo periodo, con razas afines. El consumo de alimentos totales (11,57 kg de M. S. y 16,86 U. A. por cordero) es superior al observado por otros autores pero, con índices de transformación generales semejantes, nos explica el mayor crecimiento en nuestra experiencia. En la tercera semana los corderos sufren un stress por causas no identificadas, que se refleja en una detención del crecimiento. Los corderos se destetan a los 42 días y pasan satisfactoriamente a cebo con un stress mínimo.
