We have researched the effects of polyornithine (types IC and B) on neuron cultures dissociated from chick ciliary ganglia, incubated for 8 days in heart conditioned medium (HCM). Type IB is better as to axon elongation, and type IC for survival of neurons. The influence that time exerts on the inductive power of HCM was also studied employing polyornithine and collagen substrata. The results are not conclusive but there is some evidence that storing times longer than 18 days affect negativelg the HCM inductive potentiality on cultured neurons.
