Zenobia y Juan Ramón en la mirada y la voz de Juan Guerrero Ruiz

Abstract

Mi intention with this issue is to reveal the biographic aspects of Juan Ramon Jimenez that are published in the works of Juan Guerrero Ruiz, who was a loyal friend of the famous writer. The work is called Juan Ramon de viva voz and focuses not only in the diary aspects of the write? s job and his wife, but also in the aesthetic concerns of the 'universal poet', his preferences and his politic opinions. Also it points at his relationships with those who he considered as his disciples — the members of the socalled Generation of the 27" — and at the struggle with editors and booksellers. It will also mention the determined support provided by Zenobia, her business activities, her management of their frequently limited economic resources, her cultural trips and her role of typist and faithful keeper of the poet's works. The most important of the second edition of Juan Guerrero' s text (2006) on which we base settles on the contribution of all the diaristic texts that were suppressed in the first edition of 1961 due to diverse causes. This edition is not other that the one that was used during many years as the main reference source in all the studies about Juan Ramón Jiménez.

Con este trabajo pretendo dar a conocer aquellas facetas biográficas de las que el fiel amigo Juan Guerrero Ruiz deja constancia en su obra Juan Ramón de viva voz sobre Juan Ramón Jiménez y su esposa Zenobia Camprubí que pertenecen a la vida cotidiana, al trabajo y las preocupaciones estéticas del "poeta universal", sus inclinaciones y opiniones políticas así como sus relaciones con quienes consideraba discípulos suyos —los integrantes de la Generación del 27- y la lucha con libreros y editores. También del apoyo decidido de Zenobia, su actividad empresarial, la gestión de los frecuentemente escasos recursos económicos familiares, sus viajes culturales y su papel de mecanógrafa y custodia fiel de la obra del poeta. La importancia de la 2ª edición del texto de Juan Guerrero Ruiz (2006) en la que nos basamos radica en la aportación de todos los textos diarísticos que se vieron suprimidos en la 1ª edición de 1961 por causas varias, la misma edición que durante tantos años sirvió de fuente referencial básica en los estudios juanramonianos.
