El Guadalquivir, Patrimonio de la Humanidad

Abstract

Ante la noticia aparecida en la prensa de la intención de elevar al río Guadalquivir a la figura de Patrimonio de la Humanidad, este artículo viene a resaltar las cualidades naturales y las iniciativas ambientales emprendidas en el Guadalquivir a su paso por Córdoba (España), así como enumerar las deficiencias que debieran ser subsanadas en el futuro para contribuir a lograr este fin. Paralelamente se reclama un foro de intercambio de ideas que facilite la proclamación del río Guadalquivir como Patrimonio de la Humanidad.

In relation with the news appeared in the papers with the intention of submiting the River Guadalquivir as a figure of a World Heritage site, this paper has to outstand the natural qualities and environmental iniciatives undertaken in the Guadalquivir on its way in Córdoba (Spain), as well as enumerating the deficiencies who must be improved in the future to contribute to reach this aim. At the same time a forum of an ideas exchange is being reclaimed so that it makes easier the declaration of the River Guadalquivir as a World Heritage site.
