Entre la gracia y la justicia del Rey. El linaje real de los Infantes de Granada ante la rebelión y el castigo de los Moriscos

Abstract

En el presente artículo se esboza la historia de los Infantes de Granada desde la conquista de dicho reino hasta los albores de la expulsión de los moriscos, haciendo especial hincapié en el juego de relaciones establecidas con la monarquía en torno al carácter real de su linaje y el peligro potencial que éste representaba, así como en la importante conservación del mismo que representaba para la monarquía de los Habsburgo.

In this paper we try to sketch the history of Grenade‘s infantrymen from the conquest of that kingdom until the very first moments of the morisco expulsion. The stress is placed on the diversity of relations carried out with the monarchy about the character of their royal lineage and the latent danger that represented its presence in Castile, and also the importance that its conservation meant to the Habsburg monarchy.
