El presente trabajo se estructura de una
forma práctica, se va a exponer la
manera de actuar del clínico veterinario
ante un caso de disminución del
rendimiento de un caballo de deporte. La
anamnesis es lo primero que tenemos
que realizar, cuando se nos presenta un
caso de disminución del rendimiento.
Una anamnesis bien realizada es
fundamental para poder llegar más tarde
junto al examen físico y pruebas
complementarias a un diagnóstico
preciso. Deberemos de conocer si el
caballo ha tenido alguna vez buen
rendimiento o si nunca lo tuvo. A la
anamnesis le seguirá la realización de un
examen físico tanto en reposo como en
movimiento.
crecimiento y desarrollo, a éstos
animales se les debe retirar de la vida
deportiva o si no encontramos causa
justificada reevaluar el manejo y el
entrenamiento. Entre las enfermedades
más frecuentes de los caballos que en el
pasado mostraron un buen rendimiento
deportivo destacan las alteraciones
musculoesqueléticas o locomotoras,
alteraciones respiratorias, alteraciones
cardiacas, etc, a éstos caballos se les
debe de diagnosticar de forma precisa el
problema, tratarlos hasta su resolución si
el pronóstico es favorable, reevaluarlos y
hacerlos volver gradualmente a la vida
deportiva que tenían anteriormente. The present work is structured in a
practical way, it will expose the way to
work as the clinical veterinarian before a
case of poor performance of a sport
horse. The anamnesis is the first that we
have to carry out, when we are
presented a case of poor performance.
A well carried out anamnesis is
fundamental to be able to arrive later
next to the physical exam and
complementary tests to a precise
diagnosis. We will know if the horse has
had good performance at some time or if
he never had it. To the anamnesis it will
continue him/her the realization of a
physical exam as much in rest as in
movement. The exam in rest will consist
of: breathing exam, of the
cardiocirculatory system, neurological,
hemograma and plasmatic biochemistry.
The physical exam during exercise or
later to this it will consist of: exam of
limps (musculoeskeletical system),breathing, hear of effort, hemograma
and plasmatic biochemistry. Among the
most frequent diseases in the horses
that have never had a good performance
they highlight the congenital anomalies
and problems during their growth and
development, these animals should be
retired of the sport life or if we don't find
justified cause to re-evaluate the
handling and the training. Among the
most frequent diseases in the horses
that showed a sport good yield in the
past they highlight the
musculoeskeletical alterations or
locomotives, breathing alterations, heart
alterations, etc, to these horses should
be diagnosed in a precise way the
problem, to treat them until their
resolution if the presage is favorable, to
re-evaluate them and to make them
return gradually to the sport life that
they had previously.
