La musealización del espacio doméstico: Casas museo de recreación de ambientes

Abstract

Las casas museo se presentan como un tipo de museo especializado que responde a una demanda de productos culturales y turísticos muy concreta. Son un modelo de institución museística que, pese a que no está muy presente en la historiografía española, a modo transversal, está vinculada con el turismo cultural, el coleccionismo, la historia de los grandes autores y momentos históricos nacionales y la historia de la museología y museografía en España. El objetivo de este artículo es definir la tipología de casa museo y sus variantes, partiendo de la peculiaridad de aquellas que han optado por la recreación de ambientes como base de su discurso museístico, tanto desde un punto de vista museológico como museográfico, como mostramos en los casos de las casas musealizadas que citamos. Son museos que parten de la idea de que el ámbito doméstico es capaz de comunicar una serie de valores relacionados con personalidades, épocas, gustos o modas concretos. Pero el espacio privado debe ser intervenido para poder transformarlo en museo, haciéndolo accesible al visitante, introduciendo una serie de sistemas y técnicas que van a permitir su musealización.

The house museums are a specialised type of museum which responds to a very concrete demand for cultural and tourist products. They are a model of museum-like institution which, despite not being very present in Spanish historiography, in a transverse manner, is connected to cultural tourism, collecting, the history of the great domestic authors and national historical moments and the history of museology and museography in Spain. The aim of this article is to define the typology of the house museum and its variations, in order to do so we will start with the peculiarity of those which have opted for the atmosphere recreation as the base of their museum discourse, not only from a museological, but also from a museographical point of view as the examples cited shown. They are museums which share the fundamental idea that the domestic environment is capable of communicating a series of values related to concrete personalities, eras, tastes and fashions. But the private sphere must be invaded to be able to transform it into a museum, making it accessible to the visitor, introducing a series of systems and techniques which will allow its curation.
